In keeping with the guidelines set by the National Fire Protection Association, we recommend that building owners and managers follow this schedule:
Weekly / Monthly – For dry, pre-action, and deluge fire protection systems, check the gauges once a week; if your building uses a wet pipe system, you can check the gauges once a month.
Quarterly – Inspect your system’s control valves, water flow alarm devices, supervisory signal devices, valve supervisory alarm devices, and hydraulic nameplates.
Yearly – Inspect your system’s pipes and fittings, hanger/seismic bracing, spare sprinklers, and information signage.
Every 5 Years – Perform an internal inspection of the system’s sprinkler piping.
